DONATING 1000 GRAINS OF RICE!

This is a maths game called Freerice. When you get an answer right you donate 5 grains of rice to people who have no food. I answered enough questions to donate 1000 grains of rice. It feels really good you should try it!

Music With Fran

For the past two weeks, our class has been doing music with Fran. We learnt how to play the glockenspiel, and the violin. The violin went really well for me. I absolutely love the violin, it is a beautiful instrument. The glockenspiel did not go so well for me though. I could not understand the songs that Fran was trying to teach us. Next time I am going to try harder with the glockenspiel, I could not play the songs Fran was trying to teach us. Here are some photos!

My Favourite Piece Of Writing

Two boys, Charlie and Tom, one dog Koda. Charlie was twelve, he had beautiful brown tanned skin, his face was full of freckles, he had amazingly blue eyes and brown stuffy hair. Tom was ten, he also had beautiful tanned skin, he had brown eyes with dark brown hair. Koda had really soft white fur with brown spots dotted around. He also had a very distinctive brown zig zag between his ears. Koda had brown twinkling eyes, he seemed to also have an almost magic sounding bark.

Charlie was bored, he couldn’t think of anything to do at home, so he got Koda and went to Tom’s house to see if he wanted to go to the forest with him and Koda. Tom was home and he said that he would be happy to come.

They wandered down to the forest entrance, but something was weird there. The entrance was blocked off. It was fine the day before when they went so why was it closed today. All three of them sat there and even Koda was confused. They sat there for a while. Koda eventually got fed up though. He got up and looked around. Then he smelt something, it wasn’t the best smell in the world. It was like a pair of old smelly boots. He started to follow it.

“What are you doing boy?” asked Charlie.

“Woof woof!” barked Koda.

“Where’s he going?” asked Tom.

“I don’t know,” answered Charlie.

“He must have smelt something,”  added Tom.

“Come on then let's follow him!” shouted Charlie, forgetting that he was shouting in front of like fifteen people.

Let’s go on an adventure!

So they followed Koda through a small opening in a bush. The bush was thicker than it looked. They ended up in the forest, a part they had never been to before.

They looked around and saw old stone ruins. They were beautiful buildings. They must have been very old, because they were overgrown with vines and weeds. But it had some very nice looking flowers. This was strange because it was the middle of winter.

“Look Too……..” stuttered Charlie.

Charlie turned round and saw a massive Wap! It was attacking Tom!

The Wap had big brown eyes and yellow and brown stripes; it also had a VERY big stinger.

“Tom!” shouted Charlie.

“Get out of there!”

“I can’t, he is too big!” shouted back Tom.

Suddenly Charlie jumped on the giant Wap and tried to tame it like a horse and for some weird and unexplainable reason though, it worked! The Wap was tamed! They walked over to the ruins with the giant wap following close behind. There on a pillar in the middle of a stone floor stood a pair of boots. The boots were black with flappy bits on the edges, they also had very comfy looking insoles. Tom and Charlie walked over to the pair of boots. Tom picked them up and all of them including the giant wap were knocked out!

Chapter Two

They woke up in a house, there was a warm light coming from a small, cozy fireplace. There next to the fireplace was a man. The old man had a long white beard, sparkly green eyes and a big smile on his face. Charlie and Tom looked up and saw a man with Koda and the giant Wap.

“ Oh you’re up!” he said with excitement.

“These are some wonderful pets you have here,” he added.

My Favourite NZ Holiday Destination

My favourite place to go in New Zealand is Paraparaumu Beach. It has an awesome view of Kapiti Island. There is tons of driftwood, you can build lots of huts. It is really fun. Just next to the beach there is a really fun park with all sorts of things to do. Then on the other side of the road next to the beach there are lots of restaurant and ice-cream places.
My favourite restaurant there is The Umu Restaurant. You should totally go. It is definitely worth it in the end. And the people there are really nice. There is also a market sometimes. You can get lots of things there. It is great!

Me And The Unstraight Sign (True Story)

So one perfectly normal day I arrive at school earlier than normal. Going well so far. Me and my sister pretty much beat everyone to school, apart from the teachers. I get into class at quarter past eight and put out the chairs. Then after that my friend in the class next to me arrives. There is a glass folding door in between the two classes so we spoke through those doors. It was great. Things were going well. Until one of my other friends got to school and pointed out that the one of the signs explaining what stuff was, was not straight. And boy oh boy I was mad! I don’t think I ever remember a time when I was more mad than this.

I was wandering around the class until quarter to nine when our teacher walked in. And I was still so mad. I walked up to him and told him ‘extremely calmly’ slash shouting at him in a nice way, that it was not straight. So as he was explaining what to do for that one block. Me and a friend went to the sign and took it off the wall ( by the way we had permission to do this). Then we made it straight. I pulled the trigger on the staple and a loud bang filled the room. I took away the staple gun, and saw there was no staple in the sign, but there was a staple in my RULER! Me and my friend looked at eachother and wondered what to do. I said to her “Uhh…. I guess that was uhhh the wrong side of the staple gun.” We looked at my ruler then looked at the wall. It was a sad moment. We eventually got the sign straight. It was good.

So that is my story. I am sure it will come in useful one day.

My Pet Is The Bomb Yeah!

Hola, my name is Charlie and I have a pet. I LOVE my pet, she is a dog and as you can probably tell she is a girl. Her name is Willow, she is a Alaskan Malamute. When you think of those sorts of dogs you think woah, that is a big dog. But no, no, no not Willow she is not a massive dog even though her breed is pretty big. She is black and white, she has really soft fur and she has brown eyes.
